We are pleased to say Loch Lomond Villa has become the first Nursing Home in Canada to have Epinephrine Auto Injector Stations on Site at both houses!
When a person is in anaphylaxis saving a life requires Epinephrine to be administered immediately. Several of our staff and first responders have had the education on the Epinephrine Auto Injector stations.
Epinephrine is the medication of choice to treat severe allergic reactions / anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening allergic reaction which can be triggered by foods, insect stings, medication, latex, exercise and unknown causes.
Thanks to donors to the Foundation we have installed a station at both Loch Lomond Villa and Loch Lomond Village and trained staff on its usage . Although we hope they aren’t needed they are there for not only our home but the local community in an emergency situation.
