On Friday May 11th we hosted our 17th Annual Spring Fundraising Dinner & Auction “A Maritime Kitchen Party” bringing together over 430 people to the Trade & Convention Centre. Thanks to all our sponsors, community partners and individual supporters we were able to collectively raise just over $63,000 of funds towards our mission of “improving the quality of life for the residents and families of Loch Lomond Villa.”
Special thanks to Andrea Cyr for being our emcee once again this year and Rodney Weston for being an amazing auctioneer for the evening, along with special guest speakers Elizabeth Eldridge of Arpeggio Music Therapy and Wanda Allaby for sharing her own personal story.
Thanks to the generosity of individuals and companies in attendance were able to raise $15,990 during the Fund a Need portion of the evening for the Music Therapy Program for 2018, thanks in part to a $5,000 matching grant provided by Scotiabank!
The ever-famous eliminator draw raised over $2,000 this year for a 7 Night Stay at any Wyndham Worldwide Resort generously donated by Wyndham Worldwide. Attendees were entertained by the talented Homemade Bread Band as well as by local artist Lana Langille Doucette who painted throughout the evening a “Maritime Scene” which she painted in memory of her father that was auctioned off for $1,600!
The seafood menu provided by the Hilton was delicious and plentiful, from lobster to salmon to mussels to seafood chowder there was a variety for everyone. Looking forward to sharing some wonderful photos from the evening by Miranda O’Leary Photography on our Facebook page.
Again a huge thank you goes out to all our generous sponsors and community partners from the entire Loch Lomond Villa community for your continued support for our residents, year after year. Our Platinum Sponsors Bird Construction, Simonds Lions Club; Gold Sponsors McPort City Foods, Teed Saunders Doyle, Pro-Tech Sanitation, Security electrical, and Lawtons; Silver Sponsors Select Mechanical, CIBC Wood Gundy, Swagelok, and Chandlers; In Kind sponsors K100, Kool 98, CFBC, Miranda O’Leary Photography, and Spurs Wedding and Event Decorators.
And finally, a very special thank you to all the volunteers who came out to lend a hand. Special events like this would not be a success without all the dedicated volunteers who help make it all happen. Thanks for making this event a success for our residents!
Looking forward to seeing you back again next year for the 18th Annual Event!
